It is one simple, four-letter word — TIME!

That’s right… one minute, one hour, one day to you may not be the same measure of time to me. Seem confusing? It is all about seasons, my friend! Let’s see what the Lord has to say…

8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day – 2 Peter 3:8 (NKJV)

Think about the power of that! Not all time the scripture represents is the same. One day in the Lord’s hands is like a thousand years to man! There is a difference between spiritual time and natural time, and knowing the difference can mean so, so much!

I explored this topic with my new friend, Patience Dean, on this week’s episode of 1onOne and things got so fired up that I had to share it with you. As we discussed her book, “DISPENSATIONS IN TIME,” I learned so much about how time is different for each of us and how we must take advantage of the special seasons of time that God gives us.

There is so much I could share with you, but there is just no way I could share it all in this short blog post. But here are some highlights:

• The way we look at time, if we are not careful, will instill fear and pressure into our lives.
• We can actually learn to close the gap between spiritual time (kairos) and natural time (chronos).
• We can learn to navigate the laws of time and ascend above them so that we will be totally empowered to overcome every period of darkness.
• Understating our current season can lead to change in our atmosphere, our bodies, our minds, and even our financial situation.

WOW, right? Well, let me tell you, I was moved by the entire hour-long discussion with Patience… and as I said, there’s so much more I wish I could share with you today.

So, let me encourage you… TIME is your most valuable asset and now, more than ever, we as Kingdom men and women need to learn how to master it for the Glory of God.

Ramirez: Is The Enemy At Your Door?

Is the enemy at your door? - 1onONE with Damon Davis

As a husband, father of five, and head of three companies leading pastors, authors, and humanitarian groups on this battlefield of faith, I often have limited patience for problems or complications, and even more limited time left to focus on anything that is not critical to my end goal each day. And when TV is tough, when the problems are there — when all I see is the frustration rather than the Big Goal, giving up becomes easy.

Sometimes though — in the midst this type of anxiety and doubt — God speaks and ministers to you through His love and grace. Following my interview with John Ramirez — a Satanic priest turned Biblical evangelist — I received something that stopped me in my tracks. An email came in to us from a viewer that puts it all into perspective. This is what she said:

“Dear Damon — when you and your guest prayed at the end of the show, I also prayed along with you. I agreed with you and your guest when you prayed for healing for those watching, and as we prayed together, I felt something happen in my body, and the pain that was there for so long was suddenly just gone … Thank God and thank you for doing what you do.”

Wow. In an instant, I realized that the Devil would do anything he could to distract me from what’s really important and stop the interview show altogether. At the end of the day, he doesn't want me giving spotlight to the men and women of God on my program. And he doesn't want you to get all that God intends for you — all the things that will impact, shape, and change your life.

This is why we do what we do… me, you, everyone — we get up each day and we go through the motions in life and each night when we place our head on the pillow we want to be able to say, “I DO WHAT I DO FOR A REASON!” It’s about understanding the purpose behind what we do — to know in our heart of hearts that God called us to it — able to rest in that truth no matter what the enemy might throw our way.

I mean, let’s face it: the Devil is always there to distract us, discourage us, and encourage us to stop. If we don’t have an understanding of the real point of what we do, then we will be subject to his devices and influence and stop short of what God wants to do with us, in us and through us for the Kingdom.

So what’s the point?

John Ramirez was an amazing guest. He was a third-high ranking soldier in Satan’s army. He was born into ol’ slue-foot’s army and it was all he ever knew. As John described in my interview with him and in detail in his book, he was so committed to the Devil’s work that he ate, slept, and dreamt of the Devil and carved symbols into his flesh in honor of the master.

This was commitment. This was about knowing what he was in it for! Now, listen: I’m not celebrating John’s commitment to the dark side. I’m drawing a parallel to how amazing it is that John would be so committed to the enemy, and yet most of us — me sometimes, and maybe you — struggle to stay the course He’s set out before us or remain committed to our Lord and Savior.

I like that Scripture in Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

The testimony that came in that day from that young lady about how the Lord touched and healed her through 1onONE with John — the John that’s now a soldier for Jesus — is God’s way of telling me that I AM on the right course! I AM running the race God has set before me.

Though the signs are not always as clear as this one, take a moment and consider that the Lord does have a plan for you. Take a moment and look around at your choices. If you don’t stop and consider the path you are on, the race you are running, and the destination your running to, believe me, one thing is for certain: when hard times come, when the Devil whispers those dark words into your ear, you will quit. You will fall short of the miraculous wonders that God has for you in this life!

So take the time to evaluate the course you’re running, but most importantly, keep your eyes up and focused on the prize. Run hard. Do not be distracted. Keep your feet grounded. Push hard through the rain and the heat. Throw off the things that might distract you, or that hold you back, and run with great faith and assurance that God designed you to WIN!

Most of us try hard to create a good and healthy lifestyle. We eat well, we exercise, we get plenty of rest, and maybe we even take supplements to make sure our bodies get what they need. Why, then, do we still struggle with issues like fatigue, swelling, stubborn body fat, and pain?

The answer, it turns out, is surprisingly simple. Like it says in Leviticus 17:11, “The life of the body is in its blood.”

It’s in our blood. Seriously!

I recently had the pleasure of being joined by my friend, Dr. Joe Christiano, on the 1onOne show. Not only is he my friend, he’s also a celebrity trainer, nutritional counselor, and naturopathic doctor.

Dr. Joe shared with me his book, Blood Types, Body Types, and You. His book reveals the source of our physical ailments — our blood types and food interactions.

I’m no doctor and I don’t have room in a short blog post to share all that I learned, but here’s a breakdown.

• God designed our bodies to process foods in a certain way. The foods that benefit us are determined by our blood type: I’m talking A, B, O, and AB.
• In the same way that you wouldn’t transfuse type B blood to someone whose blood type is A, we shouldn’t eat foods that are incompatible with our blood type. This means we can eat as healthy as we can, but if we’re not eating correctly, our problems will persist!
• Blood Types, Body Types, and You is an incredible guide to getting your eating habits on the path to transforming your body and health.

Maybe by now you’re starting to feel confused. Aren’t diets supposed to work for everyone? The answer is no — not if what you’re eating is incompatible with your blood type! The foods we eat are supposed to do three things. They’re either beneficial (healing for our bodies), neutral (create energy for our bodies), or to be avoided (they’re incompatible with our blood type).

I want to share my personal experience with you that I learned from Dr. Joe and his book. I’m type O. I also suffer from swelling and pain, which doctors have suggested could be rheumatoid arthritis. That’s some serious stuff! Not only doesBlood Types, Body Types, and You coach you through redesigning your food choices, it provides recipes and shopping cards that you can take on the go! I discovered that my blood type needs things like beef and cheese, stuff that I enjoy but cut out because they’re not supposed to be good for me! On the flip side, I love cashews, but they’re incompatible with my blood type. This is some amazing stuff, gang.

A Lesson in the Power of Words

At one time or another, we’re all faced with hardships. Stress takes a toll when our needs aren’t being met. Why, you might ask, have I lost so much?

I want to assure you that there’s a way to recover all that you’ve lost. This way out doesn’t rest on hope alone, but has been ordained by God. Our struggles are temporary. When we’re tired and overwhelmed, God steps in.

That’s what my guest, Tim Johnson, and I discussed on this week’s episode of 1onONE. He spoke of the power of words, and the gift of hearing the words the Spirit has for you.

Specifically, Tim shared the importance of three words with me:

• Rhema: A noun word God speaks to or through an individual’s spirit. This is different from logos, which is the written words in the Bible. You have to hear the voice of God and obey! Revelation 2:29 says, “He who has an ear, let him hear the voice of the Spirit.”

• Recovery and redemption: All scripture speaks to recovery and redemption! God wants to restore us to our original state, and he wants us to recover what’s been lost.

Ephesians 1:7 says, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.”

When we hear, listen to, and obey God’s word, our lives are transformed. We will live as an example of God’s greatness!

Tim was an amazing guest, and I couldn’t possibly convey all of his insights in one blog post. I encourage you to watch the 1onOne program to experience the power of God’s words for us.

I know we all experience moments of turmoil, when it all feels hopeless. It can be recovered! God has a plan for all of us to be blessed and to prosper. If you open up your spirit and listen, this year can be the year to recover all that you’ve lost. We should ultimately have control over our outcome, not the outcome having control over us!

And here’s the thing. I say “restore what we’ve lost,” but lost isn’t even the right word. Our relationships, our health, our financial security hasn’t been lost... they’ve been stolen. The Devil wants to keep his foot on our neck, holding us down and stealing our happiness.

We shouldn’t blame genes for our health, the mortgage company for losing our home, our boss for our stress at work, our spouse and children for our troubles at home. They’re not the thief. The Devil is the one behind everything!

There’s hope, and that hope is the redemption and restoration that comes through Jesus. Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and live it abundantly” (John 10:10 ESV).

Your faith and action will set you on the path to restoration, where all you say and do walks in line with God’s plan for you.

Living a Life Full of Vision

Vision. In its simplest definition, vision is the state of being able to see. Taken a step further, vision is the ability to plan for the future. That’s where businesses get the term “vision statement” from — the statement that defines the future state of an organization, what they want to achieve and accomplish.

Vision is so much more than that! Vision is what lets us see beyond our obstacles to what God has in store for our lives. In spite of where you are and the choices you have made, visions can restore what is lacking, be it our health, our jobs, or our relationships.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with my friends, Kay and Olu Tawio, in the 1onOne studio to talk about vision.

They’re the authors of an amazing book called The Vision Guided Life. This smart, straightforward book is a guide to discovering, understanding, and applying God’s vision for our lives. Psalm 37:4-5 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”

Vision, Kay and Olu explained, is beyond ambition and beyond setting goals. Ambition is focused on the self — what can I do to benefit me most? Vision comes from God and is focused on the benefit of others!

Here’s the thing. All of us, at one time or another get stuck in a “pause” mode. These pauses can be short or long, self-imposed or a result of something beyond our control. The problem is, when we’re stuck in pause, we’re missing critical information! The longer we’re stuck in a perpetual pause, the further we move from God, and the harder it is to see His vision for us.

The Tawio twins’ book serves as a guide to get from where you are to where God intends you to be. The best part? There’s something in this book for everyone!

Maybe you have no idea what God’s vision is for you. Maybe you think you have your vision, but want to know if it’s in line with God’s plan for you. Maybe you need some encouragement and fine-turning to be better at your purpose.
