Are You Getting To The Core Of The Problem

I’ve discovered a common thread when I come across people who are living day-to-day, seemingly frustrated, discontent, and agitated. In nearly every case, when we get past the surface stuff that’s causing angst – they have this one thing in common – they are searching.

What are they looking for? Well, for many it’s purpose. Yep – the age-old question: “What is the meaning of it all?” I removed the word “life,” from the question to boil it down to the real point: What is the meaning of what I am doing now? If we get up each day, shower, dress, deal with the kids, fight traffic, sit behind some desk and bounce from one event to another without really understanding the ‘point’ of it all – well – when circumstance hits, we are posed for frustration, discontent and agitation. I see it all the time in people.

So, what makes people really want to get up in the morning and get motivated? What makes them sit up, take notice and walk with purpose? What drives people to make a difference in their lives, and the lives of others? The answer is PASSION!

Ask yourself the big question in life: “Why do I do what I do? Why am I doing it? Where am I headed?” And all of this, and I mean ALL of it, has a direct correlation to what exists in the CORE of you.

You see, there is a center within you – a focal point deep inside from which everything, all the issues of life, spring forth. I’m a living example. For the better part of the first half of my life, I was a wreck at the core. Tough stuff in childhood and in my early development years had a negative impact on my core, my heart, my mind, my spirit, my soul. And if the core is unbalanced, off center, out of alignment, then the rest of your life will follow a pattern.

This doesn’t mean that you need to pretend that you have it all together. You’re not looking for perfection. You’re looking to truly understand what you want and have a plan, the determination, the faith and the will to get there. When your core is messed up, getting where you want to go will always be a struggle.

I recently had the opportunity to interview on my show, Dean Graziosi. You Must Take This To Heart

It’s been a blessing to walk with you over the last few weeks as we’ve talked about restoring our total man. I hope you’ve enjoyed the previous posts on the spirit and the soul. Today, I want to wrap up the series by talking about the body. We all know we should eat right, exercise, etc., but today I want to talk about the importance of a specific part of your body that needs to be healthy…

The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23 – Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it…(NIV)

Obviously, the writer was using the heart as an illustration of the soul. But, wait a minute…not that I am trying to re-arrange scripture, but what if I was to say it like this…

Above all else, guard your heart, for A HEALTHY BODY flows from it…

The condition of your heart is critical to living the extraordinary life. In a purely natural sense, the state of your heart will determine the state of your overall health. We live in a time when the leading causes of death in the United States are not from environmental factors, accidents, or sickness. The sad reality is that most Americans experience, what could be, preventable deaths. Reports indicate that at least 26% of all deaths in the United States are from some form of heart disease. That is greater than one out of every four. We would never allow anyone to harm us or threaten our lives, yet we are willingly doing damage to ourselves through the decisions we continue to make.

Heart disease doesn’t simply cut short your life. It affects the quality of the life you live. And the affects you experience have a ripple effect all through your life. In fact, this year alone, heart disease will cost the United States $316.4 billion for medical services, medications, and lost productivity. That is a cost that we all bear together.

When it comes to our health, most of us live with a fair degree of denial.

A recent survey showed that 39 percent of Americans thought they had ideal heart health. This is in spite of the fact that 54 percent of those people had been told they had either a heart disease risk factor or needed to make a lifestyle change to improve heart health, or both.

A healthy heart is not the result of drastic behaviors that swing wildly from neglect to restriction and back again. What we truly need is to honestly examine the current state of our health and embrace a lifestyle that is both enjoyable and sustainable.

So, I want to pose some questions to you that will help you get started considering your heart health!

Are you ready?

Question: Do you get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise each week? This breaks to down to thirty minutes of walking, swimming, or bike riding five days per week. You don’t have to join a gym or buy expensive equipment to get the time in. Walk with your spouse on the beach, or go play with your kids in the park. The objective is to get your heart pumping and give it the workout it needs. If you have specific restrictions that limit or inhibit your exercise, or if you have concerns about the type of exercises that you should engage in, then talk with your physician and let him or her direct your activities. Question: Do you have a dietary plan that you follow to promote good heart health? Your diet is very important to your heart health. Having a plan is the first step to success! Food For The Soul

It’s a new day and I hope you are beginning to see a shift take place in your life! I’ve heard such positive and inspiring feedback from our blog series the last few weeks. There is something life changing happening in our 1onONE community as we continue our focus on complete restoration in our spirit, soul and body!

Let’s dive into this week’s topic …

If you have your Bible handy, let’s turn to a scripture we’ve looked at before – 1 Thessalonians 5:23. It says: “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (NIV)

We all understand the “body” aspect of who we are. It is the outside, the “shell” of us…the physical part of our being that lives, has breath, and eventually dies. And, then we have a spirit. Our spirit is the eternal part of us that has been redeemed and made right with God through the sacrifice of Jesus. It is in our spirit form that we will spend eternity in Heaven with our Lord and Savior.

But, do we really understand the soul part of who we are? When the Bible speaks of the soul, it is often synonymous with our understanding of the mind. The soul is the part of us that thinks and feels, has emotions and makes choices. All of your decisions, all of your emotions, all of your opinions, are a product of your mind and soul. The soul includes the conscious and subconscious minds, the realm of emotions and the will. The soul gives a man personality, self-awareness, rationality and natural feeling.

Think of it like this – if you were talking to me face to face, you’d be looking at my body, but speaking to my soul. And here in lies an important facet of life that I really want you to understand – we as human beings take in and experience the world (i.e. the natural aspects of life) through both in our bodies and our souls. Our bodies provide the five senses…sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. But, it is in the area of our souls where we process, interpret, store, judge and filter through all that we bring in. This is so crucial to understand if we are going to truly live the extraordinary life and gain victory through Jesus!

I’d like to give you a simple illustration of this principle…

You and I meet in a crowd and I put my hand on your shoulder. You would know that I physically touched you through the body’s sense of touch. But, how would you feel about the fact that I touched you? It could make you feel happy, afraid, curious or…some other emotion. And then, if I were to move to the person next to you and touch them, they too would know that I put my hand on them…but they’d probably have different feelings about it than you.

It is our soul that tells us how to feel about and process our world. So, it’s important that if we are going to become the best version of us, that we focus on growing our soul, and bringing it into alignment with the Master and His Word. When we become born again, our spirit man is cleansed, made clean and becomes whole. But, we don’t receive a brand new physical body, nor does our soul automatically change either. The mind and soul you had before you were saved are the same the moment after you were saved. The good news is that God provides us the power by His Spirit, and the Word of God, as tools to renew our mind and grow our soul.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2 (NIV)

“and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude],” – Ephesians 4:23 (AMP)

There is so much that can be said about the principle of renewing our souls, but I want to start by sharing one principle…one strategy with you that I think is so powerful for leading the extraordinary life.

I read a book once that impacted my journey deeply. There was a quote from the author that read, “We are products of our past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it.”

So many of God’s people are halted from the BEST version of themselves because they are trapped in the PAST version of themselves! In the example I gave about meeting in a crowd and touching you on the shoulder, the emotion of fear may rise up from someone that has been abused in their past. So much of how we respond is determined by the old messages our soul gives us about how to respond to the now. New relationships are doomed from the start because of filters from the past. Business ventures are never started because of ones that may have failed in the past.

Well, it’s time to get breakthrough over our past so that the Master can lead us to a future that is full of the EXTRAORDINARY. We can give up the past that our soul has stored, and receive a new future full of the promises of God! You might be asking…”Damon, where do I start?”

• We must forgive ourselves for the past we have created…
• We must forgive others for the past others have created for us…
• We must change our negative patterns …
• We must shift our way of thinking to God’s way of thinking…

Let me leave you with a few nuggets of encouragement today as you endeavor to leave the past behind!

Second Corinthians 10:5 says…

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (NIV)

Even if your past tells you that you are a failure, not worth anything, or not good enough, God says you are. So cast your past down, and lift up your new identity in Christ!

Colossians 3:2 says…

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (NIV)

When your past tries to take you off the path to complete restoration, look up and know that God will lead you in the right way!

Philippians 3:13 says…

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” (NIV)

When your past tries to remind you of what’s behind, you forget it to grab what lies ahead!

I believe that God wants you to be completely healed, restored and operating at your maximum potential. Start being all you can be today, by leaving behind anything that stands in your way!

Developing Your Spirit Man – Enriching Your Relationship with God

Damon Davis here! I trust that the Master has lifted you this week and you are now ready to JUMPSTART your journey towards developing the new you! Last week, I introduced you to this concept of complete healing and restoration by focusing on the total composition of man – spirit, soul and body. Well this week, we are going to start off by hitting the topic of the spirit head on! This part of the composition of who you are is the most vital aspect, and the first place you should start when working to create the EXTRAORDINARY LIFE!

So, if you’re like most of us, you’re wondering, “Where do I start…what is my first step in developing my spirit man? The first step is understanding that you are in fact a spirit being!

Genesis chapter 2:7 says…

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Now, this verse as well reflects the triune or three-in-one nature of man. Notice the three elements once again. It says that He formed the dust of the ground. This is the natural element of man – his body. And it says that man became a living soul. He became self-aware with his own thinking, feeling, and choosing.

But, we cannot overlook the middle portion. Look at it again… and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. The word “breath” in the original language also means spirit. Now if we were to read this verse again with this understanding, it would sound like…

“The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the spirit of life; and man became a living soul.”

Notice the order. God began with dust of the ground. It was completely lifeless. It would be just as if you were to take some clay and make a figurine. In and of itself, the dirt or clay does not have the capacity for life.

Continuing in this vein, the Bible says in Genesis 1:26 that we are made in the image and likeness of God. Well, have you ever asked yourself, “What is God like?” John Chapter 4:24 says – “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” So, if God is a Spirit and we are like God, then we must conclude that we are a spirit. The next logical conclusion is that if we are spirit beings, then our lives thrive and flourish when we take care of, and focus on the development of our spirit man. However, because we live in a fallen world where we have to fight our fleshly desires, our focus is on ourselves. Thus, we fall into the trap that our daily actions are usually focused on our physical and emotional needs, and very rarely on our spirit man.

How do you develop your spirit man? You must connect with the ULTIMATE SPIRIT…the God that created us and formed us.

He created us in His image and likeness. He breathed His Spirit into us, all so that we could commune and fellowship with Him! So to grow your spirit man, you must nurture and enrich your relationship with Him, your Heavenly Father!

I want to share some steps with you that I’ve found to be helpful for me in developing my spirit man through connecting with God. I’m just like many of you reading this post…between kids and family, business, my 1onONE program…man, it gets difficult to find the time to fellowship with the Master.

But friends, this is vitally important. The number one thing you can do for you and those you love is find time to sit in the presence of God!

Let’s dive into the steps that I’ve learned through the Generals of the faith that taught me to develop my spirit man.

1. Prayer: I like to describe prayer as communicating or simply talking with God. I know this concept is simple, but powerful. If we are called to have a relationship with God, we have to learn to communicate with Him. The apostle Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that we are to “pray without ceasing.” Hey gang, that means that God wants us to be continually in communication with Him! So let me encourage you…IT’S TIME TO FIRE UP YOUR PRAYER LIFE! I’ve learned so much about the breakthrough power of prayer from people like my good friends Pastor Teresa Goggins and Cindy Trimm!
2. The Word of God: The Bible declares that “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” The spirit man grows when we feed ourselves on the Word of God. Become All That God Has Destined You To Be

Hey there 1onONE community, Damon Davis here! I am blessed to have the opportunity each and every week to bring powerhouse guests to you through my television program! I believe 1onONE is a divinely inspired platform God has given me to empower and strengthen the Body of Christ to become all that God has destined us to be. I also believe the broadcast is a vessel to get God-inspired principles to the masses, and reach the teenager, the CEO and everyone in between.

Why do I believe this is so important? Because, I know with all of my heart that God does not want any of us living short of who we are called to be or having all that we are supposed to have. That is what I call the extraordinary life. Anyone can live ordinary these days…living in financial lack, having health problems or not having peace in your soul is ordinary. But, if you are reading this post, that is NOT the life God has for you.

Trust me, I know what it’s like to live ORDINARY; experiencing what everyone else is going through. But, one day I grew beyond frustrated, being sick, not having God’s best, struggling each and every day, and questioning what my purpose in life was. I was in this dark season and I experienced what can only be described as a God moment. I began to realize that no matter how much I exercised, no matter how much I prayed, how much money I made, or how much I tried to not get upset, I would never experience the great life I so desperately wanted. God began to show me that until I begin to build up the total composition of who Damon is, I would not see His best in my life.

You see, man is a triune being. We are in fact one person, but with three different parts that, together, make up who we are. We are a spirit, we have a soul, and live in a body. We will only succeed in living the extraordinary life when we get all three parts of who we are operating at maximum levels.

If you wish to grow in wisdom and knowledge, and fulfill the will of God for your life to become all that God has created you to be, you must first focus deeply and sincerely on the body, the spirit and the soul!

So, what does that mean? How do I begin this journey? What’s the course that I follow? How do I get on course, and stay the course? Well, one thing is for sure…you can’t do it alone! That’s why I believe our 1onONE community is so important! To fully understand the journey, let me break down the connection between the body, the spirit and the soul. The body, which is your temple, is your physical being. This relates to the areas of health, fitness and nutrition. You must take care of your physical body in order to operate at maximum levels.

But, it doesn’t just stop there. You have a soul. The soul speaks to your inner self, your emotions, your thoughts, and your will. So many people are sick, dying and self-destructing, not from obesity or high blood pressure, but because they are depressed, angry, bitter or just down right unhappy.

And, you are a spirit. The spirit is our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Frankly speaking, this is where most people truly don’t give enough focus. If the spirit is not aligned with God’s purpose for you, then it will throw the body and soul out-of-whack. Understanding this, and focusing on each step of the journey will help you discover and come to terms with who you are, understand who you are NOT, and gain confidence in who God made you to be. It’s not just a journey of your spirit, and not just a journey of your body and soul. This is a journey of revelation of you and for you. This is a journey of discovering some things about what you really think, and what you really feel is important in your life.

So, over the next few weeks, I want to share some thoughts with you on how you can take some simple steps to build up the total composition of who you are! I am ready to set out on this tremendous journey with you and introduce you to a better total self. Why You Should Listen To The Bible

The Bible is part historical document, part divine revelation, and completely inspiring. This amazing piece of literature is a cornerstone of civilization-and the foundation of our faith.

However, with 66 books, written by at least 39 authors over a period of 1,500 years, the Bible can be a bit intimidating to study. Where to begin? How to study? What are the most important parts of it?

And most importantly, with a book so long, and so full of valuable information, how can one possibly get through it quickly?

In the New Testament, Jesus and His apostles were often found teaching in the temple. In a very powerful passage in the book of Luke, chapter 4 verses 16-19, Jesus reveals Himself as Messiah by reading aloud from the book of Isiah.

It says that, “And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.”

In those days, as in essentially every period of history up until the invention of the printing press, the people heard the Word of God read aloud in the temples. The foundational stories contained in the book of Genesis were also passed down by oral tradition, to be finally written down by Moses.

Throughout the Bible we see that God uses the spoken word of His prophets to speak to His people, and the Apostle Paul tells us in Romans that “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Rom 10:17).

Listening to the Bible is an incredible experience. After all, the words were meant to be heard, not necessarily only read. It can also help you learn better. Hitting A Wall

Several years ago, I decided to hire a voice coach. I only went once, because I was so discouraged after my first lesson. I walked in thinking I was “the man”, but by the time she was finished with me, I was frustrated. I convinced myself it wasn’t worth going because the drive was too long, but I have to admit I was also nervous, perhaps because I deep down, I was convinced I wouldn’t be good enough.

In my first session, the song we worked on was Kyrie by Mr. Mister. I could hit all of the notes except for one. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t hit the note.

We continued that first session by doing additional exercises where she would ask me to test my range, and would push me beyond what I was able to do. I grew frustrated. What I didn’t realize was that while I was hitting a wall, she was trying to push me beyond it.

The children of Egypt experienced the same thing, whether it was facing the Red Sea or coming out of the desert facing the Jordan. In both circumstance, they “hit a wall”. A wall of water that stood between where they were and where they needed to go. A wall that confined them from their destiny.

God creates each and every one of us with so much potential, so many different talents and abilities, but many of us have buried this potential beneath a pile of doubt and worldly lies. We hit the walls life slams down before us, unconvinced they can be broken down.

If you feel like you’ve hit a wall in your life, like success is just not for you, that you’re too poor or sick or don’t have any talent, then I urge you to hear what Apostle Ronald Hamm has to say.

Apostle Hamm explains in his book, Destroying the Spirit of Limitations, that these walls we hit, these barriers we experience are actually spirits. They need to be identified-and destroyed.

“The spirit of limitation is a force whose purpose is to restrict, resist and restrain you from reaching your destiny”, he writes. These spirits convince us to believe the mental constructs and lies we hear over and over-most often from ourselves-that we’re not good enough, we don’t have the talent or potential.

We can’t keep committing to defeat, or letting the world’s way of thinking keep us from success any longer. We can’t let ourselves be convinced that our limitations are permanent or binding. Rather, we need to bind this spirit of limitations, to tap into the Kingdom’s way of thinking.

As Apostle Hamm writes, “The Scripture says that you should LET the same mindset that Christ had be in you. (Phil 2:5-9) By virtue of the fact that it says LET, indicates that you can do it. You have full function of your mind to cause it to change the way it thinks.” The pages of Destroying the Spirit of Limitations are full of wisdom such as this: how to take your thoughts captive to Christ and change them from the world’s way of thinking into God’s way of thinking.

When I was working with my voice coach, getting frustrated, what I didn’t realize at the time is that she was purposely trying to find my limits. She was more interested in quickly identifying what I could not do, than listen to what I can do. She intentionally continued to bring me to a place where my voice would fail.

As I left that day, I am sure she sensed my frustration with her. She pulled me aside and said, “You hired me. I don’t need your money. If you are here, we need to have an agreement, what kind of student are you going to be?”

Looking back, I see what she was really saying… are you going to trust me that I have your best interest in mind? This is what we do with God. He knows darn well what he is doing. Can we trust Him enough to face our own limits, to break down our own walls?

My prayer is that you are able to stop listening to the world’s pessimistic view of physical, cultural or economic limitations, and start destroying our spiritual limitations. I urge you to trust the potential God has given us to create, to lead, to invent or discover. God designed us with amazing minds, talents and potential. I challenge you today to push beyond the limitations placed on your life, to break down the walls you’ve hit and to begin trusting the plan God has for you.

Host the Presence of God

There is a scripture that I see all of the time and yet, it wasn’t until recently that God revealed to me a deeper revelation.

And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. – Ezekiel 36:27

You see, God has put His Spirit WITHIN us! That’s powerful, that means we are truly hosting the presence of God

What would happen to your life and the lives of those around us if we were more aware of the revelation knowledge that we are hosts to the presence of God? It would be like enjoying His voice, His goodness, and His mercy every moment of your life!

It didn’t seem like a life like this is possible; well, until I met my new friends, John and Heidi White!

We are living in what many are calling the last days. It seems like everywhere you look, the world is in chaos. When you turn on the TV, you see images of wars, and struggle. It’s like we’re standing on the edge of the abyss, and what we can’t yet see leaves us searching for answers.

Most of us don't seem to know what our most valuable asset is. It is NOT our home (in fact, this is often our greatest liability)! It is not our car or the possessions we own.

It is one simple, four-letter word — TIME!

AND NOW, I'LL SHARE WITH YOU THE SECRET TO SPIRITUAL AND FINANCIAL SUCCESS THAT MOST OF US DON'T KNOW…

Not all time is the same!

That’s right… one minute, one hour, one day to you may not be the same measure of time to me. Seem confusing? It is all about seasons, my friend! Let’s see what the Lord has to say…

8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day – 2 Peter 3:8 (NKJV)

Think about the power of that! Not all time the scripture represents is the same. One day in the Lord’s hands is like a thousand years to man! There is a difference between spiritual time and natural time, and knowing the difference can mean so, so much!

I explored this topic with my new friend, Patience Dean, on this week’s episode of 1onOne and things got so fired up that I had to share it with you. As we discussed her book, “DISPENSATIONS IN TIME,” I learned so much about how time is different for each of us and how we must take advantage of the special seasons of time that God gives us.

There is so much I could share with you, but there is just no way I could share it all in this short blog post. But here are some highlights:

• The way we look at time, if we are not careful, will instill fear and pressure into our lives.
• We can actually learn to close the gap between spiritual time (kairos) and natural time (chronos).
• We can learn to navigate the laws of time and ascend above them so that we will be totally empowered to overcome every period of darkness.
• Understating our current season can lead to change in our atmosphere, our bodies, our minds, and even our financial situation.

WOW, right? Well, let me tell you, I was moved by the entire hour-long discussion with Patience… and as I said, there’s so much more I wish I could share with you today.

So, let me encourage you… TIME is your most valuable asset and now, more than ever, we as Kingdom men and women need to learn how to master it for the Glory of God.

Ramirez: Is The Enemy At Your Door?

Is the enemy at your door? - 1onONE with Damon Davis

As a husband, father of five, and head of three companies leading pastors, authors, and humanitarian groups on this battlefield of faith, I often have limited patience for problems or complications, and even more limited time left to focus on anything that is not critical to my end goal each day. And when TV is tough, when the problems are there — when all I see is the frustration rather than the Big Goal, giving up becomes easy.

Sometimes though — in the midst this type of anxiety and doubt — God speaks and ministers to you through His love and grace. Following my interview with John Ramirez — a Satanic priest turned Biblical evangelist — I received something that stopped me in my tracks. An email came in to us from a viewer that puts it all into perspective. This is what she said:

“Dear Damon — when you and your guest prayed at the end of the show, I also prayed along with you. I agreed with you and your guest when you prayed for healing for those watching, and as we prayed together, I felt something happen in my body, and the pain that was there for so long was suddenly just gone … Thank God and thank you for doing what you do.”

Wow. In an instant, I realized that the Devil would do anything he could to distract me from what’s really important and stop the interview show altogether. At the end of the day, he doesn't want me giving spotlight to the men and women of God on my program. And he doesn't want you to get all that God intends for you — all the things that will impact, shape, and change your life.

This is why we do what we do… me, you, everyone — we get up each day and we go through the motions in life and each night when we place our head on the pillow we want to be able to say, “I DO WHAT I DO FOR A REASON!” It’s about understanding the purpose behind what we do — to know in our heart of hearts that God called us to it — able to rest in that truth no matter what the enemy might throw our way.

I mean, let’s face it: the Devil is always there to distract us, discourage us, and encourage us to stop. If we don’t have an understanding of the real point of what we do, then we will be subject to his devices and influence and stop short of what God wants to do with us, in us and through us for the Kingdom.

So what’s the point?

John Ramirez was an amazing guest. He was a third-high ranking soldier in Satan’s army. He was born into ol’ slue-foot’s army and it was all he ever knew. As John described in my interview with him and in detail in his book, he was so committed to the Devil’s work that he ate, slept, and dreamt of the Devil and carved symbols into his flesh in honor of the master.

This was commitment. This was about knowing what he was in it for! Now, listen: I’m not celebrating John’s commitment to the dark side. I’m drawing a parallel to how amazing it is that John would be so committed to the enemy, and yet most of us — me sometimes, and maybe you — struggle to stay the course He’s set out before us or remain committed to our Lord and Savior.

I like that Scripture in Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

The testimony that came in that day from that young lady about how the Lord touched and healed her through 1onONE with John — the John that’s now a soldier for Jesus — is God’s way of telling me that I AM on the right course! I AM running the race God has set before me.

Though the signs are not always as clear as this one, take a moment and consider that the Lord does have a plan for you. Take a moment and look around at your choices. If you don’t stop and consider the path you are on, the race you are running, and the destination your running to, believe me, one thing is for certain: when hard times come, when the Devil whispers those dark words into your ear, you will quit. You will fall short of the miraculous wonders that God has for you in this life!

So take the time to evaluate the course you’re running, but most importantly, keep your eyes up and focused on the prize. Run hard. Do not be distracted. Keep your feet grounded. Push hard through the rain and the heat. Throw off the things that might distract you, or that hold you back, and run with great faith and assurance that God designed you to WIN!

Okay, I’ve moved over to the ‘NO QUIT' zone. How about you?
